Transcend has reviewed the paper packaging products it supplies against the requirements applicable to our products and our role in the supply chain from 12 August 2026.

Our material assurance and testing processes consider relevant PPWR requirements and associated food contact and substance requirements, including:
• PFAS in food contact packaging
• Lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium
• Bisphenol A, where applicable

Our products and material controls have been subject to testing and review since 2018. Based on our current testing, supplier assurances and material controls, the products covered by our statements meet the relevant requirements applicable at the date of publication.

We will continue to monitor the phased introduction of further PPWR requirements and update our specifications, controls and supporting documentation where necessary.

Supporting sustainable, safe and circular packaging
Transcend Packaging Ltd is committed to supporting its customers in meeting the requirements of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40, commonly known as the PPWR.

The PPWR establishes requirements for packaging placed on the European Union market. Its objectives include reducing packaging waste, improving recyclability, supporting reuse and increasing the use of recycled materials.
​
The Regulation entered into force on 11 February 2025 and generally applies from 12 August 2026. Further requirements will be introduced in phases over the coming years.
Our role in the supply chain
As the converter and supplier of finished packaging, Transcend recognises its responsibility to provide customers with clear and accurate information about the materials, specifications and products we supply.

Under the PPWR, responsibility for determining the final packaging specification, material classification, conformity assessment and any required EU declaration of conformity rests with the organisation regarded as the manufacturer of that packaging.
​
Transcend supports this process by maintaining appropriate product information, material assurance records, test results and supplier documentation.
